I do not know what weight you held
in selection, Rosemarie,
but you or somebody
saw straight through to my core.
I see it now:
my reckless abandon
in pursuit of any passion,
understood or not;
my unwavering faith,
tenaciously holding to,
despite all obstacles;
my unconventionality,
a firm truth to my being,
in all words or actions.
One criterion set me apart
from the pool of many,
and I am still hard-pressed
to figure out how you knew
to associate it with me.
