Younger Heart

Written July 30, 2010

everything, everything—
so predictably falling,
in dreams I’m calling
your name.

this time there’s no pedestal,
no walls you’re untouchable,
not feeling so incapable
like before.

it’s blossomed over time,
losing its tag of ethical crime,
producing mediocre rhymes
from me.

for once, my three parts agree:
my heart, my mind, and she—
didn’t expect that from me,
from me!

while I do question the chances
you’ll accept my pursuant dances,
or flee from audacious advances,
I’ll go.

I’ll go—
for you.
