A Sort of Treason

Written May 6, 2011

you could sway me if you wished.
i have been historically indifferent
about what lights you up the most,
but i can see the fire in your heart
sparks the smile and rise in your voice
that make me feel warmer inside
than would a hometown triumph.

(i wish you would try and sway me.)

however, i may need no persuasion.
i already silently support your side,
purely ‘cause i know you really care.
i hope to look for your victorious grin
and playful gloating when you win
over me.
