These Rogue Thoughts
Written June 9, 2009
I’m destroying something good here.
Heart pounding, breath short—
for words I cannot speak,
for a place I cannot go.
(Can the world stop for a moment?)
A burning, nervous passion—
lit by these rogue thoughts!
Even behind closed doors,
I cannot but whisper this.
(Let’s forget society for a while.)
You are my forbidden desire.
Would you take this deviant leap,
and seek pleasure with me?
We won’t speak a word to them.
(Must this ever be known?)
So let’s go, let’s go—
before time starts again.
We can be united, for now,
before we must separate again.
