Anything and Everything
Written February 21, 2010
What I would do,
just to be alone with you.
Lord, give me more
than just four seconds—
there are so many words
that I need to say.
I respect you
I appreciate you
I admire you
I enjoy your company.
If anything,
if anything at all,
I want you to know
that I care about you,
and dammit, I want to show it.
I can’t tell you why
you walked into my mind,
but boy, can I tell you
why I think you haven’t left.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t curious
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want it.
But most of all,
I just want to spend my time with you.
Now would be the time to say
let’s go get coffee if I drank it!
Let’s go eat some vegetables
if that wouldn’t be weird to suggest!
I like you,
and I’ll quake when I say it,
but maybe that says it all.
I think you’re wonderful.
So let’s explore your kickass taste in music
or let’s sit in silence next to each other.
Let’s face some snow twisters,
and let’s talk about everything and nothing.
Let’s just do anything.
Because if you’re interested,
then let’s stop waiting.
But if you’re not,
then listen to me when I say
your friendship comes first.
I may melt when I’m around you,
but believe me,
I’ll pull myself together,
if I can ever say all this to you.
