Don’t Let Me
Written January 6, 2009
Every day,
I fluctuate.
To be or not,
there is no in between.
I know what choice I need to make.
It’s not your fault,
that I’m distracted.
Talk with me now.
You will see what I’ve seen.
You know that risk I will not take.
Because I know where this could go,
and I don’t want to make you a detour.
Not again.
Not to you.
I’m pursuing your friendship because
you set a standard I’m looking for,
just like [he] did for me before.
