Silver Lining
Written January 11, 2010
I’ll wear hope around my neck,
if only to prevent myself
from leaving home without it,
if only to remind myself
that my fears can be conquered,
if only to prove to myself
that I can plow through the dark.
And I’ll line your clouds with silver,
not just to prevent you
from giving in too soon,
not just to remind you
that the sun will come out again,
and maybe just to prove to you
that hope can pull you through.
