Under Fire

To be considered naive,
and to be disbelieved,
harshly hurts the heart.
Such a strong conviction,
held solely by one,
isolates the soul and mind.
An instinct is not fact.
When access to proof is forbidden,
frustration ensues, but not defeat.
The conviction holds one whole,
the skepticism breaks one apart.
A squabble over the presence of love.
